South Africa: Committee Will Be Briefed On President Al Bashir Matter Once Court Processes Finalised

The Portfolio Committee on International Relations and Cooperation has agreed to defer a briefing on the circumstances in which President Al Bashir left the country, despite a court order that he be arrested while attending an African Union summit in August 2015.

The Committee Chairperson Mr Siphosezwe Masango said the Committee will not proceed with the briefing until judgement haS been given on the matter. "Once that had happened, the Committee will then invite the Department for a full briefing," Mr Masango said.
