A Somali official says senior Al shabaab commander was killed in an airstrike carried out by suspected U.S. drone in Lower Shabelle region on Monday night.
Confirming the incident, the deputy commissioner of Kuntuwarey district Muhaydin Ali Aliyow said the drone has hit a base belonging to Al shabaab located in Shanta-Ameriko, killing Abu Ubaydah, who was senior militant commander.
