Meddy Mulisa Farmers in Kagera Region have appealed for government intervention to include coffee among crops listed down to enjoy credit facilities under the Tanzania Agricultural Bank (TAB).

Stakeholders who attended a one-day meeting held in Bukoba Municipality over the weekend recommended various strategies aimed to streamline coffee production. The agriculture sector has consistently been dominant in the Kagera regional economy. The sector engages about 90 per cent of the region's economically active population in the production of food and cash crops.
