Award-winning hip-hop rapper Khulane Morule, popularly known as Khuli Chana, has reached a financial settlement with police in the Johannesburg High Court.

The rapper was shot in a case of mistaken identity while he was at a petrol station in Midrand in 2013. He sustained minor injuries, with a bullet lodging in his right finger.

Khuli Chana opened a case against the SAPS for attempted murder and negligence. He sued for an estimated R2 million which the police refused to pay, despite apparently originally agreeing to the settlement.

He took the matter to the Johannesburg High Court and the settlement was confirmed.

The rapper has thanked his fans for their support.
