Tanzania: Ritual Killings Resurface in Muleba

Police line. Crime scene tape.

Bukoba — Ritual killers, head hunters and sexual predators are out of their lairs again. They are on the prowl.

On Sunday night unknown people killed 57-year old Laurent Anatoli, a resident of Buyango village in Muleba District. There is indication that they are ritual killings. This time the killers in Muleba harvested the genitalia out of their victim and escaped with them.

Twelve people were killed in Bukoba Municipality within twelve months in what seems to be an orgy of superstitious murders.

This is not the first time cold blooded killers rear their ugly heads in the community. Last year unknown morons stalked unsuspecting villagers including children in Muleba District, pounced on them and ran away with their sexual organs.

Between December 2011 to June 30, last year five people were killed in ritual killings in Muleba District. The deceased were identified as Kamu Chakupewa (27), who was killed by unknown assailants at Nyawaiza village, with the killers escaping with some body parts.

Bukoba District Commissioner (DC), Mr Deodatus Kinawiro, has appealed for joint cooperation from members of the public in fighting crimes, including ritual killings which are on the rise.

He urged people to cooperate with the police by reporting suspects in their respective areas.
