United Nations — The Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), which was aimed at curbing the flow of small arms and light weapons to war zones and politically-repressive regimes, is being openly violated by some of the world's arms suppliers, according to military analysts and human rights organizations.
The ongoing conflicts and civil wars in Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, South Sudan and Ukraine are being fueled by millions of dollars in arms supplies - mostly from countries that have either signed or ratified the ATT, which came into force in December 2014.
