Nigeria: Stargazers Thrilled As Cloudy Sky Mars Solar Eclipse in Lagos

The much-awaited partial solar eclipse also known as annular eclipse, finally occurred yesterday as predicted. Stargazers in different parts of the country were yesterday treated to a spectacular "ring of fire" in the sky as the sun was almost - but not completely - eclipsed.The new month of September 2016 was ushered in yesterday morning with a solar eclipse, which was been sighted at different times across Nigeria.

The eclipse was captured in Lagos at about 8.35am though it was expected to have been seen in the city as at 7:14 am with a peak at 8:26 am. At about the same time, viewers in the nation's capital, Abuja, gathered at the National Space Research and Development Agency to view the sight.
