Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire — The African Development Bank (AfDB), in collaboration with European Investment Bank (EIB) is organising the second Africa Day.

The event will take place on November 21, 2016 at the AfDB's headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. This year, participants will explore vital themes for Africa to fulfil its potential, by creating good jobs for young people across a range of sectors. They will also share perspectives on the crucial role to be played by innovation and sustainable development. This is where financing can have the greatest impact.

Confirmed speakers of the conference include Daniel Kablan Duncan, Côte d'Ivoire's Prime Minister; Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina, President, African Development Bank (AfDB); Werner Hoyer, President, European Investment Bank (EIB); as well as prominent academics and leading representatives of the African business and banking world.

The AfDB-EIB Africa Day is an agenda-setting event for those who wish to take part in the debate on how to enable youth employment, innovation and inclusive growth across the African economies. It is a must-attend for those who wish to make a contribution to investing in the future of Africa. Senior delegates from international institutions, governmental institutions and agencies, entrepreneurs, academics, private sector and civil society leaders are also expected at the conference. Delegates from Research & Development, education, banking, agro-business, energy, ICT and manufacturing are particularly encouraged to participate.
