Mozambique: Nyusi Appoints Deputy Energy Minister

Maputo — Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi on Friday appointed Augusto de Sousa Fernando as Deputy Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, a post that had been left vacant when Nyusi formed his government in January 2015.

Fernando is trained in electrical engineering, and has spent much of his professional life as a senior figure in the publicly owned electricity company, EDM. He was chairperson of the EDM board of directors between 2010 and 2014.
