Stockholm, Sweden — Organized by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI), the annual World Water Week (WWW) is the largest global event for the water sector and development-related challenges. The 2017 World Water Week takes place from August 27 to September 1, on the theme: "Water and waste: reduce and reuse" for sustainable growth." It emphasizes various connections and possibilities throughout the water and sanitation cycle, the human/ecosystem health dimension, the urban dimension of waste-water, economic and financial perspectives, the role of water in implementation and monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as water and social progress and equity.
Experts, practitioners, decision-makers, business innovators and a range of sectors and countries gather in Stockholm to network, exchange ideas, foster new thinking and develop solutions to the most pressing water-related challenges of today.
As a leading provider of water and sanitation services in Africa, the African Development Bank (AfDB), the African Water Facility (AWF) and the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Initiative (RWSSI) are participating in the WWW and organizing together with partners the following events:
