Sudan: Director of National Agency for Exports Security and Funding Lauds Role of CB

Khartoum — The Director of the National Agency for the Exports Security and Financing, Ahmed Babiker Ahmed, has lauded the role being played by the Central Bank of Sudan in the promotion and development of the exports, noting the portfolio for the financing of the gum Arabic producers established by the central bank is the first circle of the process of developing the exports of gum Arabic.

In press statements he indicated that the direct finance of the producers would limit speculations and smuggling and increase the production, stressing the state concern with the gum Arabic as an important commodity.

He explained that the existing gum Arabic financing portfolio in the Farmers Commercial Bank is important for the promotion of the gum Arabic revenues, pointing to linking it with portfolio of the gum Arabic manufacturing in the Industrial Development Bank, with the participation of the banking sector, appreciating the state's intention to manufacturing, and strict the exportation of raw material to increase its value and enhance its competitiveness in the international markets.
