South Africa: ANC Congratulates Veterans League On Successful Conference

press release

The African National Congress (ANC) congratulates the ANC Veterans' League for a successful 2nd National Conference held under the theme "Forward with the National Democratic Revolution" at Birchwood Hotel, Gauteng from the 13th to the 15th October 2017. The veterans of the African National Congress remain the custodians and embodiment of the values, cultures, traditions and ethics of our movement thus the constructive and progressive nature of the deliberations at conference reaffirmed their stature and the correctness of the reverence with which they are held by the organization and society at large.

The ANC further congratulations the leadership collective elected with Comrade Snuki Zikalala and the rest of the Officials at the helm. We have no doubt that they are equal to the mammoth task of making "a full and rich contribution to the work of the ANC, to the movement and to the life of the nation" as expected of them.

Armed with a fresh mandate, unity of purpose and a thoroughgoing process of introspection and reflection, the Veterans' League has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the growth of the movement and assisting the ANC to regain lost ground as the leader of the society. It has further committed itself to strengthen the ANC as a tool in the hands of the people to fight the triple challenges of poverty, unemployment and inequality.

The ANC looks forward to engagement with the newly elected leadership of the Veterans' League on resolutions emanating from their Conference and assures the Veterans' League of the movement's unqualified support in the full and active life of the organization.
