South Africa: Relaunch of Recapacitated Macleantown Victim Empowerment Centre

Mdantsane Cluster: SAPS and Social Development re-opened the recapacitated victim empowerment centre at Macleantown Police Station today.

Social Development has acquired the services of a new (NGO), Zion Evangelical Fellowship to operate Macleantown VEP centre with two volunteers as from the 1 November 2017.

The project is a collaborative initiative between the SAPS and other stakeholders, like Social Development, Zion Evangelical Fellowship NGO, Health and Justice to mention but a few. This is aimed at enhancing victim empowerment centre services to the community.

This centre was being manned by shift members, now these volunteers will be available daily from 08:00 - 16:00.

The local councillor Mr Gwebile, Cluster CPO Co-ordinator, Captain Mtalana and Cluster Chairperson, Reverend Noqayi, and Inter-governmental representatives were in attendance.
