Tanzania: Accident in the Empakaai Crater Area

A small aircraft has crashed at Empaakai Crater in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority.

Coastal Media Statement #1:

Today, the 15h of November, at approximately 11:00 EAT, our aircraft 5H-EGG, a Cessna Grand Caravan carrying 10 passengers and 1 pilot, had an accident in the Empakaai area, enroute to the Serengeti.

No one has been able to reach the site and assess the situation yet, due to the remoteness of the location, but several emergency teams are currently converging from air and land to bring their assistance.

All the competent authorities have been informed.
