Launch of the First Enabling Youth Employment Index Report for Africa

The African Development Bank is launching the first ever Enabling Youth Employment Index Report for Africa on Wednesday 29 November 2017 in the Bank's headquarters. This report is a key policy dialogue instrument to elevate the momentum toward collective action and implementation commitment by African countries and all stakeholders in advancing solutions to boost decent jobs for youth.

The launch ceremony will be chaired by AfDB's President, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, followed by a high level panel discussion on the theme: "Urgently Accelerating Employment Opportunities for Africa's Youth".

The following distinguished personalities will share their views and experiences:

H.E. Ms. Ulla Tørnæs, Minister for Development Cooperation, AfDB Governor for Denmark;

Ambassador Olawale Maiyegun, Director of Social Affairs, African Union Commission,

H.E. Mr. Sidi Touré, Minister of Youth Employment and Civic Service, Cote d'lvoire;

Ms. Cynthia Samuel-Olonjuwon, Deputy Regional Director, International Labor Organization Regional Office for Africa;

Mr. Federico Bonaglia, Deputy Director, OECD Development Centre;

Ms. Clarisse Iribagiza; Chief Executive Officer, DMM. HeHe Ltd. and member of AfDB Presidential Youth Advisory Group.
