Botswana: Plots to Get Numbers

Gaborone — The Ministry of Lands, Water and Sanitation Services has embarked on an exercise to provide plot numbers to households across the country.

Briefing the media recently, the deputy director in the Department of Surveys and Mapping, Mr Abednico Maphuru said the programme started in December and that it was to be concluded in February next year.

He said the aim was to improve service delivery by making it easier for service providers to access Batswana wherever they were.

He noted that it was currently difficult for people in rural areas to direct ambulances to their homes, and that it would save valuable time.

He called upon Batswana to give them feedback, as some could be allocated different numbers than the ones they were given when they registered their plots.

Plot number displays would be issued for free.
