The Chairman of GAC Motors, Diana Chan, has explained why the automobile organisation is supporting the Lagos City Marathon scheduled to take place Saturday.

Speaking yesterday at the corporate office of GAC Motors in Lagos, Chan said it was important to get involved with projects that would serve the generality of the people.

She stressed that GAC Motors was interested in the race because marathon had a mass appeal because of the huge number of participants, especially in a mega city like Lagos.

"So many people will run and we are happy to be part of the programme involving so many Nigerians because we are in this country to be known with our quality products.

"In the past four years, I have been in this country and investment is rather tough but we are happy to be making impact with the people.

"We love sports and that is why we are proud of our Sport Utility Vehicles in which the very latest, GS 8 will be launched on Friday (today) in Lagos," stressed Chan

The GAC Motors boss charged all the participants in the Lagos City marathon to aspire to do well in the international race.

She noted that marathon was good for healthy living of individuals generally and it further informed the decision of the outfit to embrace the project.

"Health is wealth and so we encourage people to run for healthy living. There are two or three competitions and we are supporting with our products for the 10km race.

"We are going to continue our support for the marathon to make it better just as we also strive to make more quality products for Nigerians," Chan stressed.
