Nigeria: 22 Students Killed in Kano Road Crash

Kano — At least 22 students of Government Secondary School Misau in Bauchi State have died in a road crash on Bauchi-Kano expressway on Tuesday.

Public Relations Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kano State Command, Kabir Daura, said the accident occurred at Tsaida village in Gaya local government area of Kano state at about 11am, Tuesday.

The students were enroute Kano on a school excursion when their bus collided with an oncoming DAF truck.

Among the 22 dead students are 12 boys and 10 girls, whose bodies had been deposited at General Hospital Gaya.

Others sustained injuries.

"Two of the injured were taken to Gaya General Hospital while the remaining one has been referred to a Specialist Hospital in Kano," Daura said.
