Uganda: Onyango Bounces Back As Kampala Police Spokesperson in New Reshuffle

Kampala — Superintendent of Police Patrick Onyango has been reappointed as Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson after he was transferred from the same post two years ago.

In a radio message issued by Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP), Moses Balimwoyo, also director human resource management, SP Onyango was moved from public relations department at Naguru to KMP as the new mouth piece.

Mr Onyango was moved to Gadaffi Barracks for a refresher course in 2016 and was replaced by SSP Emilian Kayima, who was in turn appointed former Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura as police spokesperson replacing AIGP Asan Kasingye. Kasingye was elevated to command the police commissar directorate.

Also moved according to the list that has about 80 officers is Benard Mugerwa, DPC Kabalagala who has been in that office for the last seven years. He has been replaced by Edrisa Kyeyune who had been on course at Police College in Bwebajja. SP Mugerwa has been taken to Butaleja District.
