Sudan: Executive Committee On Sudan-Turkey Cooperation Seeks Ways for Making Sawakin International Tourist Destination

Khartoum — The Executive Committee on Sudan -Turkey Cooperation held its regular meeting , Tuesday, chaired by its Chairman, Dr Awad Al-Jaz.

Dr Al-Jaz said in press statements that the Committee sought ways of development of Sawakin area and making it an international tourist destination , indicating that the meeting reviewed some visions on development of Suakin as archaeological and tourist site.

He stated that Sawakin area should be linked with Port Sudan port, and capital Khartoum, referring to tourist history of the area which was a center drawing pilgrims from all countries of the region.
