Sudan: Minister Briefed On Humanitarian Situation in South Kordufan

Khartoum — The Minister for Welfare and Social Development, Mashayir Dawalab, on Wednesday got briefed on the overall humanitarian and social situation in South Kordufan State.

The Minister who received the State's Minister for Social Welfare, Awadia Al Basha, was also briefed on the programmes and projects being implemented by the Ministry in the State to help the weaker and limited income layers in the region and to secure livelihood projects there.

The meeting also discussed the importance of social projects that target the weaker layers including women, children, senior people and orphans.

The two ministers also stressed the need for expanding the social security and health insurance coverage to include 80% of the population by the advent of the fiscal 2020.
