Sudan: Al-Mahdi - Release of Political Detainees Paves Way for Dialogue

Khartoum — The Chairman of Umma Party, Dr. Al-Sadig Al-Hadi A-Mahdi has considered the decision taken by the president of the Republic releasing the political detainees as preparation of the political stage for dialogue and strengthening confidence among all the parties of the political process in the country.

Dr. Al-Mahdi said in press release issued, Wednesday, said the decision will pave the way for smooth transition from war to realization of peace and rejection of war, calling on the armed movements to return to the homeland and present their views via political means.
