Botswana: Minister Issues Election Instrument for Moselewapula Polling District

Gaborone — Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Dr Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi has issued an election instrument in accordance with Section 154(2) of the Electroral Act (Cap. 02:09) ordering the holding of a by-election for the council member for Moselewapula Polling District in the Francistown West constituency.

A press release from the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) says nominations of candidates for election in the aforesaid polling district will be received on April 27 between 9am and 1pm as well as between 2:30pm and 5pm at Mahudiri Primary School in Francistown.

The release also says any poll which may become necessary shall be taken on May 19.
