Namibia: Jonas Through to Final

Namibian boxer Jonas Jonas beat Luke McCormack of England 3-2 on points on Friday morning to advance to the final of the men's light welterweight category.

Three of the judges scored the fight in Jonas' favour, 29-28, 29-28, 30-27, while two scored it for McCormack, 30-27, 29-28.

It was Jonas' third successive fight at the Commonwealth Games after he had earlier beaten Rashield Williams of the Bahamas, Valentin Kondakov of Samoa and Dinindu Don of Sri Lanka.

Jonas will now meet Thomas Blumenfeld of Canada in the final at 05h32 Namibian time on Saturday morning.
