Somalia: Minister Wins Election for Parliamentary Seat in Dhusamareb

The State Minister of Interior Ministry for Somalia's Federal government, Abdullahi Farah Wehliye won the election of a parliamentary seat held in Dhusamareb town on Sunday.

The electoral commision has announced that Wehliye is the winner of Today's vote, beating two main candidates run for the seat of the Lower House House of Somali parlaiment.

The state minister recevived 28 votes against his closet contender Mohamed Elmi Farah, who garnered 17 votes during the first round of the ballot, according the commision.

In accordance with the draft consituion, 51 electoral delegates cast their votes among the three candidates. The winner replaces MP Botan Isse Alin, who passed away last year.
