South Africa: EFF Calls On Government to Ensure Equal Treatment of Mourners At Mama Winnie Mandela's Funeral

press release

The EFF calls on Government to ensure equal treatment of all mourners at Mama Winnie Mandela's funeral in Orlando Stadium. No party, in particular the ANC and its affiliates, must get special treatment or seats reservations on the grandstands. The sitting arrangements must be on first come first serve basis.

The Stadium must be mixed up in the diversity of the South African political scene that Mama Winnie Mandela embraced. This will encourage tolerance in this painful hour of loss.

All political formations, particularly the ANC, must embrace this principle for a dignified send-off of Mama Winnie Mandela.

Finally, welcome the fact that no government transport has been dedicated to any political party. Our people must arrive in their diversity from pickup points, up to the grandstands at the funeral service. We further reiterate our call for all South African to come in numbers as we lay to rest our Mother of the Nation, Mama Winnie Mandela.
