Mauritius to Host SIDS Forum and Regional Preparatory Meeting

Mauritius together with the United Nations would co-host the Small Island Developing States Global Business Network (SIDS-GBN) Private Sector Partnership Forum and a SIDS Regional Preparatory Meeting for the Africa, Indian Ocean, Mediterranean and South China Sea (AIMS) region, from 21 to 25 May 2018.

The objective of the Forum is to forge collaboration among SIDS regional private sector organisations for a better exchange of experiences and best practices. The theme of the 2018 Forum will be "Strengthening private sector partnerships for sustainable tourism development".

The SIDS Regional Preparatory Meeting for the AIMS region aims at reviewing the implementation of the SAMOA Pathway which articulates the sustainable development agenda for SIDS. Some 150 participants would attend the meetings.
