South Africa: Murder Suspect Nabbed After Taxi Driver Fatally Shot

Polokwane — Following an intensive investigation by the Polokwane detectives after a local taxi driver was fatally shot at a hiking spot in Polokwane, 43 year old Matsobane Peter Molepo from Mmatobole Village in the Ga-Maja area was arrested for the murder.

The incident took place on the 28th of November 2017 at about 14:00 when the suspect allegedly shot and killed the taxi driver Collen Malepe aged 24 from ga-Mathabatha Village during an alleged heated argument.

The motive behind this incident is not clear at this stage but Police investigations will tell as they are still unfolding.

The suspect had already appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate Court and was not granted bail. His case was postponed until the 25th April 2018 for a formal bail application and further Police investigations.

The Police investigations are still continuing.
