Egypt coach Hector Cuper announced on Monday (14 May 2018) a provisional 35-man squad list for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Russia 2018.

The list that will be reduced to 23 players by 4 June 2018 witnessed some new faces, including United Stated based defender Amro Tarek, with Ahly's veteran goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy returning after being dropped for the previous two friendly games against Portugal and Greece last March.

Egypt will start their preparations in Cairo on 23 May 2018, before departing for Kuwait where they will face the home side two days later. The Pharaohs who return to the World Cup after a 28-year hiatus are due to face Colombia in Bergamo, Italy on 1 June, before having their final warm up game in Brussels against Belgium on 6 June.

Led by Argentine tactician Cuper, seven-time African champions Egypt are housed in Group A with hosts Russia, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia. They will kick off their World Cup campaign against Uruguay in Ekaterinburg on 15 June.
