Luanda — The Angolan musician Eduardo Paím is one of the artists invited to participate in the fifth edition of the Afrokizomba Festival of Geneva, Switzerland, scheduled to happen on 02 June this year.
According to the musician's production company, on a note that has been sent to ANGOP, Eduardo Paím has been invited to that festival by its organiser, Alexandra de Brito, who wants the Angolan Kizomba music genre to be known in Switzerland.
Besides his musical performance, the singer, songwriter and producer will also conduct a workshop on the Kizomba music.
Eduardo Paím went to the spotlight of Angolan music in the early 1980's as one of the leaders of the S.O.S band.
In the early 1990's the musician relocated to Portugal where he perfected his musical and production skills and, thus, rose to prominence as one of the main promoters and improvers of the Kizomba music genre (which blossomed in Angola in the 1980's).
While in Portugal, Eduardo Paim worked as producer and also released several albums, one of which (entitled "Do Kayaya") won a Gold Disc prize for selling more than fifty thousand copies.
He started his music career in 1979 in the "Os Puros" band, which he formed with two other friends, Bruno Lara and Levi Marcelino.
His latest album was released in 2012, which is entitled Etu Mudietu.
