Angola: U.S.$120 Million Invested in Matala Dam Substation

Lubango — A total of US $ 120 million will be invested this year by the Angolan government for the renovation of three turbines and the consequent rehabilitation of the Matala Electric Dam substation and electrification, which is 180 kilometers east of Lubango, province of Huila.

The fact was announced on Monday in Lubango city, Huíla province, by the Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, at the end of the meeting with Governor Joao Marcelino Tyipinge.

The minister paid a few-hour visit to Huíla province, aimed to assess the functioning his sector.

The official stated that the rehabilitation of the substation same obeys two components, the first one is the body of all physical infrastructures, given its physical state with cracks, and therefore had to be repaired.

According to him, the works are concluded and under the responsibility of a Canadian company.
