Uganda: Security Officers Search Hotel Where Kayihura Is a Regular

Unknown people wearing security uniform are said to have conducted a search operation at Courtyard International Hotel in Lyantonde District.

A resident at the hotel told this reporter that a search was conducted at about 6pm but no reason was given.

Another source said the search was conducted at the neighboring Sky Blue hotel as well.

Former IGP Kale Kayihura has been a regular at the hotel.

Gen Kayihura who also owns a farm at Katebe village, Kasagama in Lyantonde District has been a regular client at the hotel even when he was still IGP.

It's however, not clear whether the search is in any way connected to the former IGP.

At about 7pm, the Lyantonde District police commander Robert Tashobya and the RDC Mr Sulaiman Matojo were seen entering the hotel to establish what was happening.
