Egypt: Hundreds of Inmates Released On Eidul Fitr Occasion - Interior Ministry

Up to 3,477 prisoners have been released over Eidul Fitr occasion in line with a presidential decree, the Interior Ministry said Friday.

Of them 2,110 were pardoned by a presidential decree, while 677 others were freed on parole and 690 who are unable to repay off debts are expected to be released.

Charitable groups are working to pay off the debts of the inmates to have them released.
