Asmara — President Isaias Afwerki has returned home today, 25 July, concluding three days of official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.
During President Isaias' one day official visit to Saudi Arabia at an invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saudi, the two leaders held discussion focusing on bilateral relation and regional developments.
Indicating that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia gives due consideration to the existing relation and cooperation between the two countries, King Salman commended the robust decision Eritrea and Ethiopia took to end war and open new era of friendship and cooperation.
In the same vein, President Isaias Afwerki, Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed and Crown Prince Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held extensive tripartite discussion in the UAE aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and partnership.
During the event Crown Prince of UAE, Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan presented President Isaias Afwerki and Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed with the highest Abu Dhabi honor "The Zayed Award" in recognition of the vision, courage and statesmanship they demonstrated to end war and bring about peace between the two countries.
