Angola: Report Rules Out Traditional Authorities Candidacies in Municipalities

Luanda — Traditional authorities must abstain from candidacies in municipalities, whose implementation begins in 2020, recommends a report presented Wednesday in Luanda by the Rural Development and Environment Action (ADRA).

ADRA carried out auscultation work in 12 municipalities in the provinces of Benguela, Cunene, Huambo, Huíla, Luanda and Malange, covering 1,291 people, 837 men and 454 women, among farmers, fishermen, merchants, and members of associations, employees of communal administrations, religious leaders and representatives of institutions of traditional power.
