South Africa: Remembering the Marikana Lives

press release

Today marks the sixth anniversary of the Marikana Massacre, when more than 40 lives were taken at the hands of the ruling party.

After the Sharpeville Massacre in 1960, never did we think we would live through another disheartening event where people would be killed senselessly for fighting for their rights in the new South Africa, 24 years into the new democracy.

AgangSA remembers all those who were affected by the killings and urges all South Africans to stand up against such injustices and lost of lives at the hands of leaders who only care about number one.

Restoring the promise of tomorrow.
