Angola: Number of Visiting Tourists Fall

Benguela — Around 25,000 tourists visited the Benguela province in the first half of this year, less 7,000 from the same period last year, said the president of the local Association of Hotels, Resorts and Similar, Jorge Gabriel.

The official told ANGOP that the province has about 6,000 beds available in hotels, guest houses, pensions, aparthotels and private apartments.

"The current situation of the hotel network in Benguela province is not good, given the moment of crisis that the country is experiencing and the degradation of the national road 100, which have been hindering tourism to visit the region," he said.

The official also spoke of the creation of incentives for tour operators to buy domestic products without resorting to imports so as to get rid of tax burdens.
