Angola: Poland Interested in Preservation of Historical Heritage of Mbanza Kongo

Mbanza Kongo — Ambassador of Poland to Angola Piotr Mysliwiec Sunday in Mbanza Kongo, northern Zaire province, expressed his country's availability to support Angola in preservation of the historic sites and monuments of this world heritage city.

He was speaking to the press on his three-day visit to Zaire, started Saturday in Soyo municipality.

The Polish diplomat said he will discuss the strategies with the local authorities to achieve this goal.

Piotr Mysliwiec said that the Poland has the financial, technical and human resources to support the conservation and preservation of the historic and cultural site of Mbanza Kongo, raised to the category of world heritage on July 17, 2017 in Republic of Poland.

He said that Mbanza Kongo has an enviable historical wealth that must be well preserved for generations to come.

He said that it was a pride that his country witnessed the inclusion of Mbanza Kongo in UNESCO list in 2017, for which Poland wants to share its experience with the Angola in the conservation and preservation of internationally recognised heritage.

The visit includes various local sites in the region.
