South Africa: Security Guards to Appear in Court for Murder

Two suspects aged between 24 and 28 are expected to make their first appearance in the Mpumalanga Magistrates Court today facing a murder charge. It is alleged that on Saturday, 6 October 2018, a suspect was caught stealing at a business premises in Hammersdale.

He was allegedly caught and assaulted by the security guards. The deceased was assaulted with iron bars and sticks and he died at the scene. Police responded to the complaint and the suspects were arrested for murder. Police would like to appeal to the community not to take the law into their own hands.
