Have you participated in the #KupeChallenge? The banger is the most talked about song on the internet, most importantly, the challenge showcases the diversity and beauty abundant on the continent. #ProudlyAfrican

From Michael Dapaah's Man's Not Hot, Patapaa's One Corner, to Kupe, Ghanaian musicians have pulled off bangers that have taken over the world. Where regional and continental bodies have failed to bring Africans together, music has done just that.

Kupe Dance was sang by A-Star and currently sits just below Wizkids's Master Groove in the A-List African Music. According to the A-List Editor's Note: "After combing through countless releases each week, our editors select their favourite new African music. The A-List brings together the hottest tracks from across the continent." Olamide's Motigbana sits at number one.

Currently the most played song in The Gambia, A-Star's Kupe Dance has garnered 656, 000 views on YouTube. A-Star is already on his way to Canada for a Kupe tour this week. But most important, is how the Kupe Challenge has been embraced by Africans across the continent; from Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ghana, to Rwanda and the Diaspora.

"The infectious banger," was directed by Kunai Lester and produced by E. Double.B, Chris Tyga and Morris Beat. The song has however gone more viral due to the dance accompanying it which was created by Michael Amofa who is popularly known as Incredible Zigi.

A-Star's Instagram page, papermakerastar, has become a convergence point for the #KupeDanceChallenge. More than that, the artist has helped to showcase the diverse and beautiful people of the continent, and the Diaspora including Ivorian hair artist Laetitiaky and the four French guys who popularised the challenge. Hopefully, one day, these dance challenges will highlight the real challenges facing the continent.
