Tanzania: CRDB New Boss Unveils Strategy to Reach Unbankable Population

The newly appointed CRDB Bank CEO and MD Abdulmajid Nsekela has unveiled his strategy to reach many people through digital platforms.

Speaking at his first press conference in Dar es Salaam today (Wednesday), Mr Nsekela said the Bank will use digitalised services to reach unbankable population especially in the rural setting.

Citing Finscope survey, the Dr Kimei heir said 19 to 20 million people are using mobile platforms in financial transactions but still bank penetration is only 17 per cent.

CRDB has internet banking plus SimAccount that customers can open account using mobile phones and Faharihuduma agents.
