Damaturu — Mrs Rebecca Sharibu, mother of the lone Dapchi schoolgirl, Leah, who is still under Boko Haram captivity said the family had surrendered everything to God.

Mrs Sharibu stated this in a telephone interview with Daily trust on Tuesday.

The mother said she is yet to watch the video or read any news content on the incident due to network problem in Dapchi town.

"I only saw a headline but could not open the link".

"I couldn't sleep when my nephew told me that the aid worker was killed and more devastated that my daughter would be slave for life.

"Government had promised to secure their freedom and see what happen, I have nothing more to say. I surrendered everything to God" she sobbed.

Her husband, Mr Sharibu told our correspondent that he didn't want to say much about the development saying his wife is in a very difficult situation.

"We will continue to pray for her safety with a hope that one day she will return home and restored all our happiness.

"We thanked everyone for all the support and prayers during this trying moment, and we will continue to have trust in God", he said.
