Six Mauritian teams that participated in the 2018 edition of the International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC 2018) in Singapore from 22 to 25 October have each bagged a Gold Award on their first participation. They are Kanhye Health Foods Co Ltd, CheeKips Ltd, Cervonic Ltd, Sofap Ltd, the Central Electricity Board, and Haemophilia Association of Mauritius.
The six teams, also the grand winners of the 2018 edition of the National Productivity and Quality Convention organised earlier by the National Productivity and Competitiveness Council (NPCC) in August this year, were required to present productivity and quality projects that they had implemented in their respective organisations. Before flying to Singapore, they attended the NPCC's coaching sessions which also focused on presentation skills.
During the four-day convention, the Mauritian delegation had the opportunity to learn from participants from the 13 member countries including multinationals as well as public bodies.
Another major achievement was the admission of Mauritius, through the NPCC, as the 14th member of the ICQCC. The Core Country Meeting of the ICQCC validated the membership of Mauritius with full support and proposition from India, seconded by the Philippines and Bangladesh. This membership will open opportunities for future networking between the NPCC and the other member countries.
