Cameroon: Unicef Calls for Immediate Release of Abducted School Children in North-West Cameroon

Dakar — "Today, more than 80 people, including many children, were reported to have been abducted from a school in Nkwen, Bamenda, North-West region of Cameroon."

"UNICEF strongly condemns the reported attack and calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all the children abducted."

"UNICEF is deeply concerned about these reported acts of violence. Attacks on schools are a violation of children's right and schools should be safe spaces and protected at all times."

"UNICEF is concerned by the escalation of the conflict in the North-West and South-West regions of Cameroon and calls on all parties to allow humanitarian access to people in need in the affected areas.
