Sudan: Turkish Minister of Defence Concludes Visit to Port-Sudan

Port-Sudan — The Turkish Minister of Defence and the accompanying delegation Wednesday concluded a one-day visit to the Red Sea State where they inspected the project for rehabilitation of the historic Suwakin Island, which is being implemented by a Turkish institution in the context of the strategic cooperation protocol, which was signed during the visit paid to Sudan by the Turkish President, Recep Tayyeb Erdogan, to Sudan, including Suwakin Island.

Meanwhile, the Wali (governor) of the Red Sea State, Al-Hadi Mohamed Ali, has underscored importance of the visit of the Turkish Minister of Defence to pushing ahead work in the rehabilitation of Suwakin Island to be a center of internal and external tourism.

He praised progress of the distinguished relations and cooperation between Sudan and Turkey.
