Namibia: Drug-Peddling Navy Officer Gets 4-Year Jail Term

SERGEANT major Absalom Kakuena (48) cried softly when the Swakopmund Regional Court gave him a six-year sentence for dealing in drugs and money laundering yesterday.

Regional magistrate Gaynor Poulton, however, suspended two years of the sentence for five years, and fined him N$30 000 or three years in prison for money laundering.
