South Africa: Police Probe Murder After Woman (90) Fatally Stabbed in Uitenhage

Uitenhage — Police are investigating the murder of a 90-year-old woman who was found deceased in her home in Uitenhage today.

Today, around 9am, it is alleged that a neighbour that was walking past a house of the elderly woman (90) in Lange Street, Penford, Uitenhage, noticed a gate and a door that were standing open. She called her, and became suspicious when there was no response. She then went inside, and discovered the body of the elderly woman (90) lying at the door entrance to her bedroom and immediately summoned the police. The deceased had a stab wound in the upper body. At this stage, the motive for the attack is unknown. The name of the deceased is withheld as her relatives have not yet been notified.
