Africa: World's Top Aid Agency to Promote Resilience With New Body

New Orleans — The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is to set up a new body to promote resilience, a senior official said, amid growing pressure on the world's top foreign aid donor to do more with less.

Creating resilience - the ability to withstand broad disasters ranging from climate change-induced floods and droughts to economic shocks and health epidemics - is seen as increasingly important if international aid is to work.
