Namibia: Fuel Price Drops in December

30 November 2018

THE petrol price will go down by N$1 and the diesel price by 40 cents on 5 December, the mines and energy ministry announced on Friday afternoon.

The ministry's statement says the price drop was due to oversupply on international markets and a weak global economic outlook.

"The ministry applauds the latest developments in the international oil market, especially at a time of the festive season when many Namibians will be travelling long distances to various holiday destinations while others will be engaging in seasonal communal farming activities," the statement reads.

"Moving forward, the ministry will, therefore, continue to take all necessary measures to ensure that Namibian fuel consumers are supplied with fuel products at fair prices," the ministry adds.
