Ethiopia: Ethio-Eritrea Cycling Tournament to Begin Tomorrow

Mekelle — A cycling tournament that starts from Mekelle and extends to Asmara and Mitswa in Eritrea will begin tomorrow, according to Tigray Region Youth and Sports Affairs Bureau.

The aim of the tournament is to strengthen the people-to-people relations between the peoples of Ethiopia and Eritrea, it said.

Regional bureau head, Genet Arefe told ENA that the cyclists will cover over 400 kilometers.

Best cyclists from the countries are going to participate in the competition.

"The cycling event will add synergy to development and trade cooperation between the two countries," she added.

Top eight cyclists from Tigray Regional State are going to take part in the tournament.
